CALMING THE TROUBLED MIND
In today’s modern world – “busyness” can often overtake us. We end up spending a lot of time ruminating over things that haven’t gone well in the past and worrying about all the jobs that we need to do in the future. Our minds can end up being extremely busy and often we do not have enough tools in our tool box of life to help us deal with this. This 6 session course will aim to equip you with mindfulness tools to help you to calm your mind and to find stillness.
In group sessions of 2 ½ hours over six weeks we will:
The course is based on a multi-dimensional approach which includes some basic meditation practice as well as a range of informal exercises designed to help you explore how you can integrate mindfulness into your life for greater well-being.
BREAK FREE FROM STRESS AND ANXIETY
Come and learn how to find the keys to break loose from the shackles of stress and anxiety. Use mindfulness to learn how to pay attention to the present moment experience, rather than getting tied up in worrying about the past or future.

MINDFULNESS FOR CHILDREN
MindfulnessNow offers a course in mindfulness for children aged between 9 to 11 years. The course is based on the work of Dr Amy Saltzman and consists of six one hour classes directed to giving the children an understanding and personal experience of mindfulness through age-appropriate activities.
The starting point is to learn what it means “to pay attention to the here and now”. Children are guided in formal practice to bring their awareness initially to their breath and later also to sounds, sensations, thoughts and feelings. Through meditation children can learn how to relax, build concentration and develop the capacity to observe their internal world.
In a practical sense, mindfulness can give a child the skills to calm themselves down when they are angry or upset or nervous, to concentrate and ignore distractions, and to show kindness towards themselves and others. It is about giving a child the opportunity to develop prosocial skills as well as self-esteem and resilience throughout life.
